40 years is just the beginning!

Heigh-Ho, my pretty rainbow tribe! Bobby Patrick, your RAINBOW review here. Put the silent T in cabareT to bring you all the T!

Well, my darlings, Thursday night’s trip to the Triad introduced yours truly to the comedic styles of Miss Richfield 1981, who, with her show – 40 YEARS ON THE THRNE – kept everyone present in a state. constant laughter throughout his regular 90 minutes. If any of you dear readers love to travel but do so on a budget then you’ve probably encountered this drag royalty in his many Orbitz commercials or on your uber gay Atlantis cruise ships where, until our recent predicament she was a regular performer. This beauty pageant winner (default) is the creation of the wonderfully talented Russ King, a stand-up master who in hisBWW Review: This the character of the beauty queen, told long-running comedy stories, one-liners, went hand in hand improvising with the audience, AND SHE CAN SING TOO! Speaking of a nude scene with only a chair, microphone and a scrolling screen for her numerous projections and video interludes which all underscored and enhanced the stories she told of her 40 years as Miss Richfield 1981 Our Lady of laughter pulled faces, sang songs and went out on a tightrope to work without a net improvising with the crowd. With a mouth that rivals Martha Raye and a wide, strong voice similar to that of Kaye Ballard, one can imagine these two great clown ladies taking the extra E’s of their names and shaping this drag diva to leave her in their wills. She was tall, cheeky and brash in all things, having fun with her friends, fans and the uninitiated in a nonstop, fast delivery that would seem impossible to follow in the long run, but carry her her the did.

Sometimes it’s hard to write a performance that’s so completely stellar on all fronts – I mean what a reviewer can criticize when a show is so hilarious. The truth is, on this road – Bobby has nothing, but a word needs to be said about Miss R / M. King the singer. The 1.5-hour show, which the Queen of Minnesota really only took a short break to play a funny BWW Review: This video, left the audience gasping with laughter, and then, the moments when Miss R let the audience have her with her broad baritone voice left everyone breathless in another way … Anyway, this B! +% H can belt! No lip-syncing queen is our Miss Richfield 1981, because she doesn’t have to worry about her blowjobs. Towards the end of his show, his comedic take on I’VE BEEN EVERYWHERE – graced with his own funny lyrics – made Bobby’s little head spin with dizzying pauses that would have caused Gilbert to lose his Sullivan. Wrapping up the show with Finnian’s LOOK TO THE RAINBOW, singing so wonderfully AND THEN, using the chair on stage, finally, to sit with his violin bow and saw (yes a SAW) to add a touch of musical surrealism for us send all home.

Finally, this drag creation would appear to be the performance mask worn by a consummate clown in order to open a creative door in his soul that lets out the flow of shameless gifts shared with an audience that can’t help but love MISS. RICHFIELD 1981: 40 YEARS ON THE TRNE, and for that Bobby has to give him our full show …
