Bolton: Fully Monty stars come to town to film new series
The stars of cult film The Full Monty have been spotted in Bolton as they film for a new series inspired by the 1997 box office hit.
The cast of The Fully Monty have reunited for a new original series, with the sequel being an eight-part series, which will premiere on Disney+.
Film crews have moved to Victoria Square to film inside the former Specsavers unit at Crompton Place shopping center and today the stars of the original cast of the BAFTA-winning film, as well as those playing new characters, can be seen rehearsing and filming scenes.
Among the faces that could be seen were Steve Huison, Paul Barber and Mark Addy, who in the 90s played Lomper, Horse and Dave respectively. Robert Carlyle, who plays the main character Gaz, was also spotted in the town.

As rain fell in Victoria Square, the cast stayed dry inside the makeshift film set.
The original film, once the country’s biggest hit, follows a group of unemployed Sheffield workers as they decide to form a male strip act to earn some cash.
The new series will include new characters, some of whom are children and grandchildren of returning characters.
Bolton Council’s deputy leader, Cllr Hilary Fairclough, whose duties include cultural services, said: “It’s a really exciting time for us to have them here. We’re getting a lot of them now, we’re becoming almost jaded with them.
“It’s really good because it’s nostalgic for a lot of people in Bolton.”
