Macau’s casino regulator, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), confirmed in a response to GGRAsia that it had granted SJM Holdings a total of 150 new gaming tables in the market for the Grand Lisboa Palace in the ‘opening. The bureau added that all new tables awarded were for mass games. There was no new table allocation for the VIP game.

Ms Ho did not say how many gaming tables would be offered to the public when the casino opens, however: the company can choose not to make full use of the new table allocation, and it also has the option of reallocating to the game. Grand Lisboa Palace games room. of its inventory available elsewhere, including VIP tables.

In a dossier filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Thursday, SJM Holdings confirmed that it had been authorized by the Macau regulator to “request the transfer of additional gaming tables to the Grand Lisboa Palace casino from other casinos “operated by the company. The file added that the regulator had “approved the installation of 1,200 new slot machines [at Grand Lisboa Palace], with specific limits on the numbers that can be installed and be in service at the time of opening.

When fully operational, the Grand Lisboa Palace will include a total of 1,892 rooms and suites in three hotel towers, including a Grand Lisboa Palace Macao hotel, a “Palazzo Versace” brand hotel and a “Karl Lagerfeld” brand hotel. . Ms Ho said on Wednesday that the group would “first launch” some 300 rooms out of a total of 1,350 keys that will be available at the Grand Lisboa Palace Macau. Reservations for the new hotel are already available on the establishment’s official website.

“Then the rest of the rooms will gradually come into service, depending on the actual demand,” Ms. Ho added on Wednesday.

The opening of the Grand Lisboa Palace comes at a time of increased travel restrictions between Macau and mainland China. As of the stroke of midnight on Saturday July 31, those intending to enter Macau on a direct flight from mainland China must hold a nucleic acid test certificate issued within 48 hours proving they are “negative” for Covid-19 infection.

Macau authorities also recently added new locations to the list of places on the mainland where departing travelers must complete a 14-day quarantine upon arrival in Macau.

Mainland China is the only place to have a largely non-quarantined travel bubble with Macau, amid existing travel restrictions as countermeasures against Covid-19.
