This 328-foot cruise ship transformed into a megayacht has its own nightclub and a hospital on board

A cruise ship is usually not something one covets. Unless, of course, it’s been turned into glitzy superyachtas is the case for Dubai.

The Italian liner, which was first delivered by Cantiere Navale Ferrari in 1989, underwent a multi-million dollar refit by Platinum Yachts in 2009. The 297ft was kept under wraps throughout his property, until now. Dubai came to market for the first time with Worth Avenue Yachtsand we have a look at the $35 million beauty.

As you would expect from an older cruise ship, Dubai has an insane interior volume of 4,184 GT, giving her as much space as a 328ft or larger megayacht. She’s not only tall, she’s beautiful too. Its interior is inspired by the Art Deco style of the 1920s with geometric shapes, bold hues and ornate furnishings.

She can accommodate up to 44 guests in eight VIP suites, 13 doubles and not one but two owner’s cabins. The latter enjoy a dedicated sundeck, of course, with an elevated outdoor Jacuzzi, panoramic views and larger bathrooms than some regular cabins. There are also accommodations for a whopping 71 crew members.

Elsewhere inside there is a giant guest lounge and two lounges which can be used as games rooms or cinemas. There is also a nightclub on the lower deck with a high-tech sound system and a hospital because you can never be too safe. Oh, there is also an elevator connecting all levels.

Outside, you can expect an abundance of deck space, as well as a large swim platform with a fountain.

“She is the perfect royal yacht for someone looking to travel the world with a large group in ultimate privacy,” said broker Mathieu Bardon of the Monaco office. Robb Report in an email. “Few yachts have their own nightclub on board.”

As for power, Dubai is equipped with two MAN engines which allow it to reach 15 knots at full tilt and cruise at 13.5 knots.

Perhaps more importantly, the yacht has had only one owner in her lifetime and has never been chartered. She is currently moored in Dubai awaiting her new owner. Prepare your checkbook.
